The radio station that launched a thousand faces
Following a successful 2016, the south’s leading radio station Wave 105, launched its annual Cash for Kids 1000 Faces campaign on 6 March.
Wave 105 Cash for Kids is appealing for people to sign up to its 1000 Faces campaign and pledge to raise £100 by the end of 2017.
With a maximum of 1,000 faces available, each ‘face’ can be an individual, a group, business or school.
Money can be raised through fundraising activities such as cake baking, sky diving, a Zumbathon, or a sponsored silence.
Wave 105’s managing director Martin Ball, said, “1000 faces is a simple engaging fundraising idea and we were delighted to have beaten our £100,000 target for 2016. Due to its success we are bringing it back for 2017 and are optimistic we will once again raise much-needed funds for children’s charities and individuals across the south.”
Samantha Burdekin, charity manager for Wave 105 Cash for Kids, added, ‘‘We are thrilled with the enthusiasm and response we received from those who supported 1000 Faces last year. The money raised this year will enable us to help more children than ever before.”
The radio station will host a social hub for people to upload pictures and videos of their fundraising activities using the hashtag #wave1000faces.
