It was smiles all round when the winners of the Christchurch Christmas Festival raffle collected their prizes.
Run amongst retailers in Christchurch with an array of prizes donated by local businesses, it raised more than £1,000 for the festival.
1st prize was won by Jo Dyton of The Hatch Gallery. Her prize was three months’ gold membership at Two Riversmeet Leisure Centre, a Sunday carvery for four at Hoburne Park, champagne from Waitrose, a Cath Kidston handbag from Lavender & Bay and vouchers from Mathews Shoe Shop, Coast Coffee Shop, Eden Boutique and Kelly’s Kitchen. 2nd prize Helen Grey, Davis Tackle, 3rd prize Scissors Hairdressers, 4th prize Hamiltons.
Paul Riley, chairman of the Christchurch Christmas Festival organising committee, said: “The raffle is a great way for local businesses to benefit each other but also raise funds for an event which supports the whole of the town centre. All of the prizes were given free of charge and the range of goods and vouchers available to win encouraged people to buy the tickets.”
Jo Dyton added: “I never win raffles but, with such an array of prizes, it made my week to find out I’d won. I will be giving away some of my prizes to my unpaid staff. The festival is a fantastic boost for the town. I had a really good trading day and I’d like to thank the festival organising committee for all that they do.”
