Rail strike called off for this weekend
South Western Railway, which operates services from Bournemouth and Poole, plans to have a normal service on 15 and 17 September.
Following the death of The Queen, South Western Railway has announced that the strike action due to affect its network on 15 and 17 September has been suspended by the trade unions involved.
A spokesman said: “At a time of national mourning, we are united with the rest of the railway family in sending our condolences to His Majesty The King and the whole Royal Family.”
SWR plans to reinstate a normal service for the days which would have been affected by the strikes. It says it is also working through what further changes might be required as part of preparations to help the nation commemorate Her Late Majesty.
Customers should check journey planners regularly for the latest information: https://www.southwesternrailway.com/plan-my-journey and should also be aware that services are expected to be extremely busy on Monday, the day of the funeral.
