Rainy litter pick in West Moors
Residents weren’t deterred by the rain on 5 November, and turned out to pick litter from the town’s streets.
Despite the torrential rain, litter pickers were out in force in West Moors at the weekend.
Cllr Mrs Penny Yeo and residents Val Kelly, Rosie Brown, Christine Risby, Malcolm Adam and Alan Postawa, braved the conditions and filled and collected 10 bags of rubbish from the streets.
Although, there were not as many volunteers for the bi-monthly litter pick as there had been before, there were sincere apologies and disappointment for not being able to attend.
A spokesman said: “It is genuine concern for our environment that these faithful volunteers turn up every other month, many doing their own litter picking in between.
The next clean up is in January 2023 and if you wish to join in, please contact the council office on Park Way.”
