New award celebrates the diversity of Dorset’s digital and creative businesses.
Digital and creative businesses in Dorset are growing in concentration and diversity, and the county’s reputation as one of the UK’s fastest-growing areas in the digital economy is strengthening.
To celebrate successful practitioners, the Dorset Business Awards, in association with the Daily Echo and Dorset Echo, is introducing the Creative and Digital Impact Award, sponsored by Arts University Bournemouth and Liz Lean PR, to this year’s award categories.
Dorset’s digital businesses range from digital advertising and marketing, to app and software development, and the new Creative and Digital Impact Award is on the hunt for inspirational examples of innovation, technological robustness and creative originality in any project undertaken within the last 12 months.
Entrants will be required to provide detailed examples of their work that demonstrate the extent of their creative thinking and digital expertise, while showcasing how they have achieved the main objectives of the original brief. They will also need to provide detailed information on the performance of the project and the intended audience. The original project brief must also be provided, and entrants are encouraged to upload a short one-minute video to demonstrate their passion for the project.
Professor Stuart Bartholomew CBE, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of Arts University Bournemouth, says: “Dorset has a lot of immensely talented, influential people working in the creative industries and producing nationally recognised work. The introduction of this award reflects our commitment to promote and develop the digital sector as a key part of the region’s economy.”
The awards are free to enter. Entrants can apply via www.dorsetbusinessawards.co.uk. The closing date for entry is Friday September 9. Entry is open to all companies based in Dorset with a BH or DT postcode, and entrants do not need to be a member of Dorset Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
