Record number of events held during Discover Wimborne festival
There will be nearly 200 events taking place as part of the Discover Wimborne festival during the month of April.

April sees the annual Discover Wimborne festival taking place, with a record number of events taking place, many of them free.
A total of 184 events — including workshops, guided tours, live music, creative classes, yoga sessions, health and wellbeing sessions and themed restaurant events, among others — have been organised this year. For the first time since Discover Wimborne was held, there is an event happening every day throughout the month.
Now in its ninth year, Discover Wimborne 2025 is set to be the biggest yet. Organised by Wimborne Business Improvement District (BID), the event welcomes in spring and helps newcomers to the town discover more of what Wimborne has to offer.
The BID’s Tammy Sleet said: “Every year we ask businesses if they would like Discover Wimborne to return and every year it’s a resounding yes.”
Fiona Harwood, member of the BID’s Board of Directors, said: “Discover Wimborne is just one of the many engaging activities orchestrated by Wimborne BID.
“Driven by businesses and funded by their support, our core mission is to strengthen the local economy. Through our carefully crafted projects, we aim to elevate Wimborne’s charm, making it an irresistible destination for both residents and visitors.
“Businesses in Wimborne contribute to funding BID projects not merely out of self-interest, but also due to a deep-rooted fondness for this unique town. The unwavering commitment of businesses and residents to shopping locally and supporting one another makes Wimborne an extraordinary and vibrant place.”
The Discover Wimborne programme contains details of all the events taking place in April. Collect a free copy of the programme from the Museum of East Dorset’s Information Centre in Wimborne High Street as well as from local businesses. There will also be large display boards outside Waitrose and in the town square detailing events. Finally, you can visit www.wimborne.info for online information.
