Remembering the lost buildings of Ringwood
A historical society has arranged an exhibition and talk all about Ringwood’s historic buildings.

If you have ever wanted to know more about Ringwood’s unique history, then you will enjoy a new exhibition organised by a local historical society.
The Ringwood Society have announced their upcoming exhibition and accompanying talk, titled ‘Lost Buildings of Ringwood’.
The exhibition will be held throughout July 2025 at Ringwood Meeting House and History Centre.
The society said: “Ringwood is lucky to retain many historic buildings, but over the years an interesting collection of buildings have been consigned to history. But who designed and built them, what were they used for, why were they demolished and what replaced them?”
The new exhibition will be launched with a talk by the chair of The Ringwood Society, Alex Bancroft. This will feature a presentation on the buildings featured in the exhibition and the stories behind them, as well as some buildings which were not included.
The talk will take place at Ringwood Meeting House and History Centre in Ringwood at 7.30pm on Tuesday 1 July 2025. Tickets are free for members of The Ringwood Society, or £6 for non- members. Book via www.ringwoodsociety.org.uk/events.
The Ringwood Society was founded in 1962 when redevelopment was proposed for the last historic residential building in the Market Place. It aims to protect Ringwood’s unique character and encourage people to explore the town using the Town Trail, which is available in many cafes and bars, as well as online.
