Renewed appeal following fatal road traffic collision in Bournemouth
Officers investigating a fatal collision on Wallisdown Road, Bournemouth are issuing CCTV images of potential witnesses and renewing their appeal for anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
The collision happened during the evening of Thursday 30 July at the junction with Alton Road, involving a white KTM motorcycle and a red Nissan Pathfinder.
Officers attended, along with the fire and ambulance services. Very sadly the motorcyclist – a man aged in his 20s from Salisbury – was pronounced dead at the scene. His family was informed.
The occupants of the car sustained minor injuries.
Police Sergeant Nikki Burt, of the Serious Collision Investigation Team, said, “We have identified a number of vehicles that were travelling in the area that we would like to trace.
“While I appreciate the images are not of the best quality, I am hoping they may jog someone’s memory if they were travelling in the area around the relevant time.
“I am appealing to anyone who was driving any of the vehicles pictured to please get in touch as you may be able to help the investigation.
“I would like to extend my appeal to anyone that was on Wallisdown Road between the University roundabout and Wallisdown roundabout between 6pm and 6.20pm on Thursday 30 July and may have seen a 4×4 vehicle, a motorbike or the collision itself to contact the investigation team.”
