Essential resurfacing works are being carried out to a main link road used to access Poole town centre.
Works to Mount Pleasant Road will begin on Tuesday 30 September and finish on Thursday 2 October. The working hours will be 8am to 4pm.
During these works, a 24 hour road diversion for motorists will be in place. Bus companies have been notified and some bus routes have been temporarily changed. Pedestrian access will be unaffected.
The junction of Seldown Lane and Mount Pleasant Road will also be closed to enable to the new road surface to set.
Access to the car park for Lighthouse, Merck House and local businesses will still be available via the junction of Seldown Lane and Kingland Road.
Councillor Ian Potter, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Transportation, Borough of Poole, said: “The road is in a poor condition, so we are pleased to have the funding available to carry out these improvements.
“We appreciate there is never going to be a good time to undertake these works, but we’re doing all we can to minimise the disruption to local residents and road users. We would like to thank everyone for their patience during these works.”
The resurfacing works will cost approximately £40,000.
