Resurfacing works to take place in Poole Road, Poole during November
There will be diversions in Poole Road, Poole, this month. Inevitable delays and disruption to travel should only last for four days.
A busy road in Poole is to be closed for a short period of time this month.
Resurfacing works from the junction of Bourne Valley Road to Pottery Junction on Poole Road are to take place from 24 to 27 November.
The work will be carried out in a series of phased road closures with no access for through traffic between Liverpool Victoria/County Gates Gyratory and Pottery Junction for the duration of the scheme. Different diversions will be in place for each phase of the works.
Two surfacing teams will work double shifts and throughout the night.
Poole Road will be closed to through traffic throughout the scheme. In addition, different parts of the road will be inaccessible to traffic during different phases. Refuse collections will not be affected.
Additional temporary diversions may be required during the same works period to adjust traffic signals at Bourne Valley Road (off-peak hours). Works can be interrupted by wet weather or other unforeseen circumstances. The alternative works period would be Tuesday 1 December to Friday 4 December.
Cllr Mike Greene, portfolio holder for Transport and Sustainability at BCP Council, said, “We know that local people care deeply about the state of our roads, as do we, and our successful Challenge Fund bid has allowed us to address key areas of concern across the conurbation.
“We apologise for the inconvenience but we are excited to continue to invest in infrastructure that will benefit local residents, commuters and visitors for many years to come; creating a safer, quieter and more efficient road network to complement our continuing efforts to encourage sustainable travel through our ongoing Transforming Travel initiative.”
