A 38-year-old man has been released on bail until the end of January following his arrest in connection with an alleged robbery and assault in Creekmoor.
The Crimestoppers charity is offering a reward to encourage witnesses and anyone with information about the incident to come forward as soon as possible.
A local couple, a man in his 80s and a woman in her 70s, were making their way along Stalbridge Road – she was on foot and her husband was on a mobility scooter. At 11.30am on 27 November, it’s alleged that a man approached them from behind, grabbed the woman’s handbag injuring her arm, and pushing her husband to the ground before running into Hazelbury Road. Her handbag contained bank cards and a small amount of change.
Detective Constable Will Burnett, of Bournemouth and Poole CID, said: “We are seeking more information to assist the investigation into this alleged crime.
“It was broad daylight at the time and someone may have witnessed the incident or seen a man wearing dark coloured jacket and hat running away.
“Crimestoppers are now offering a reward and hopefully this will encourage witnesses and anyone with information to come forward as soon as possible.”
Members of the public will only be eligible for the cash reward if they call the Crimestoppers line – on 0800 555 111 – with information that leads to the arrest and charge of an offender.
