A reward of up to £3,000 has been offered by the Crimestoppers charity following a fail to stop road traffic collision in Bournemouth.
At 4.30am on Sunday 24 August 2014 emergency services were called to Poole Hill following a report of a number of people being struck by a vehicle which had then driven off in the direction of Terrace Road toward the BIC. A short time later, officers located the vehicle, a grey 318 BMW estate, which had been abandoned on the East Overcliff. A 22-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man, both from Bournemouth, were taken to Poole Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The female victim sustained bruising to her body and the male victim a head wound.
Detective Sergeant Andy Bell, of Bournemouth CID, said: “Following further enquiries, we are trying to locate the suspect, Dean Cambage who is 32 years old and from Bournemouth, and I am now able to release a picture of him.
“I am appealing for anyone who knows of the whereabouts of Dean Cambage to come forward – all calls will be treated with the strictest confidence. In the interest of personal safety, I urge members of the public who see anyone they believe to be the person pictured to call police and not to approach him.”
The reward is for information leading to the arrest of Dean Cambage. In order to qualify for the reward anyone with information should call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply. DS Bell continued: “I hope that this cash reward will encourage anyone with information that will help us to apprehend the suspect to come forward.”
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Dean Cambage should either call Dorset Police on 101 quoting incident number 24:83 or, in order to qualify for the reward, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
