Bill Riddle, Operations Manager at Bournemouth’s Castlepoint Shopping Park, had the honour of welcoming long-time friend Harry Redknapp to the site on 23 October at 5.30pm.
Arguably Poole’s most famous resident, Harry Redknapp was promoting his autobiography ‘Always Managing’ in WH Smith.
Bill said that the affection for the former Bournemouth player and manager was clearly strong in the area: “It was great to see a line of more than 400 people who had purchased his autobiography waiting for Harry to sign their copy.
“So many people went away very happy to have met their hero, and someone who supports a great number of local charities. Harry personally thanked each of those who attended for waiting and finished signing at 9pm.”
Bill, who first met Harry Redknapp in 1993, has remained in contact ever since and also asked the Queens Park Rangers’ manager to be the first to sign a special autograph book. Castlepoint will eventually auction it off for charity once filled by the famous authors who attend book signings at WH Smith and other booksellers at the park.
The multitalented Amanda Holden will be signing her autobiography “No Holding Back” at the Castlepoint Waterstones on 30 October.
