Ringwood pedal car grand prix to return in 2025
The popular British Pedal Car Grand Prix in Ringwood was cancelled last year, but the organisers say it will return on Sunday 13 July.

Racing fans were left disappointed last year when the annual British Pedal Car Grand Prix in Ringwood was cancelled. But the team behind the event have announced it will return in 2025 on Sunday 13 July.
The grand prix, which sees racers zoom through Ringwood town centre in home-made pedal cars, was established in 1987 and has been held almost every year since.
The annual event was due to return for its 37th race in 2024, but organisers cancelled the race at late notice last year due to several unforeseen circumstances, including financial challenges driven by significant increases in the costs of holding the event, coupled with a significant number of local businesses having to reduce or cease sponsoring the event due to the current economic climate.
But in February, the organisers announced on Facebook that the event will return this year,
Organisers the Ringwood & District Round Table said: “Expect thrills, spills and fun as up to 40 teams compete for glory around our challenging street circuit. It’s the equivalent of the F1 Monaco Grand Prix!
“There’ll be fun for all the family throughout the day, with activities, stalls, delicious food and drink, plus more to be announced.”
According to the organisers of the free community event, the race costs around £10,000 to put on and does not receive funding from the local or district council. It is instead funded by race participants and sponsors
To avoid another cancellation, the organisers are seeking sponsorship from local businesses. If you would like to help ensure this year’s race goes ahead, email pedalcargp@ringwoodroundtable.co.uk.
