Ringwood School is celebrating another year of exceptional A level results with its largest ever cohort.
Provisional results indicate that the year group achieved a 99.6% pass rate for A*- E grades in 34 subjects offered through A level and vocational courses. The percentage of grades awarded at A*-A has increased to 25% (+2% from 2015) with 53% of all grades awarded at A*- B (+3% from 2015) in line with the school’s best ever results. Students with at least 2 A levels or equivalent has risen to 97%.
The highest individual results were achieved by Hearst Lam – 3 A* grades and 1 A grade. Hearst is now going on to Cambridge University to study Mechanical Engineering.
3 or more A*- A grades were achieved by: Sophie Cundall, Sophie Beck, Robert Boulton, Mabel Collins, Olivia Cornwall, Robert Fisher, Max Grant-Walker, Declan Kirkwood, Rose Knight, Rosie Mabb, Toby Matthews and Joshua Perriman.
A 100% pass rate was achieved by students following vocational courses with an average grade of distinction*.
A very high percentage of university applicants have already secured places at their first choice institutions. Nearly all of the students who began a two year A level programme in 2014 completed their studies in 2016, demonstrating outstanding retention and success.
