Ringwood School to perform Disney's Beauty and the Beast
Ringwood School is set to stage Disney’s Beauty and the Beast from Tuesday 6 February to Saturday 10 February 2018.
Ringwood School will once again open its doors and welcome audiences from the local area and further afield for this captivating show. The school’s reputation for developing talent in the Performing Arts is well-established and the show is expected to be popular.
Over 130 talented Ringwood School students, from the backstage crew, to the orchestra and cast, will be singing, acting and dancing to re-tell the powerful story that has moved many from around the world. Beauty and the Beast tells the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the beast’s exterior and realise the kind heart of the true prince within.
Ian Hawkins, producer and musical director of the show, comments, “We are very excited to be staging this amazing show. Students and staff are currently working extremely hard on all aspects of the production. Beauty and the Beast is a well-known story and is difficult to put on stage for many reasons. Our BTEC Production Arts students are rising to the challenge to make sure the technical aspects of the show match the high standard of performance”.
The annual school production provides an opportunity for the practical elements of courses such as Performing Arts BTEC, Production Arts BTEC and A-Level music to be brought to life.
Ringwood School will stage Beauty and the Beast six times from Tuesday 6 February to Saturday 10 February, culminating in a gala black tie performance on Saturday 10 February.
