Ringwood to celebrate 800 years of its market
Local people are invited to a public drop-in session at Ringwood Gateway to put forward their ideas on how to celebrate the market milestone.

Eight hundred years ago King Henry III granted a charter to Ringwood to hold a weekly Wednesday market and now local people are being invited to put forward ideas as to how that historic occasion could be celebrated.
This milestone offers a unique opportunity to celebrate Ringwood’s rich history and its enduring role as a vibrant market town. To ensure the commemorations reflect the community’s spirit and heritage, residents are invited to contribute ideas for a programme of events that not only honour the past but also bring pride and energy to the town today.
A public drop-in session will be held at Ringwood Gateway on Wednesday 23 April between 10 am and 6.45pm, where residents can share their suggestions in person. Alternatively, feedback can be submitted via the online survey available on the Town Council’s website.
