Trudi Ellis has been shortlisted in the ‘Best Dementia Nurse Specialist’ category of the National Dementia Care Awards 2013.
Trudi, a dementia nurse specialist at Royal Bournemouth Hospital, said, “I am incredibly flattered that I have been shortlisted for this award and would like to thank and acknowledge the great team of people who I work with that continually strive to achieve the optimum care for all our patients.”
There are four other nurses shortlisted in the category alongside Trudi and she will be interviewed by a panel of judges before they decide on a winner.
The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony to be held at the Colwick House Hotel in Nottingham on Wednesday 6 November.
Each year over 2,000 patients with dementia are admitted to the Royal Bournemouth Hospital – around 40% of the patients on our medicine for the elderly wards.
