Do you like to read? Do you find it difficult to get to the library to get new books? The Royal Voluntary Service may be able to help.
All libraries in Poole have a team of dedicated Royal Voluntary Service volunteers, who are able to visit on a regular basis, delivering the books you want from the library to your home, free of charge. Large print books and talking books (on CD or Memory Stick) can also be delivered.
This service is funded by Poole Library Service, and delivered by the Royal Voluntary Service. It is available to anyone who cannot easily get to their local library, and can be provided on a temporary basis as well as long term.
All Royal Voluntary Service volunteers are subject to Disclosure & Barring Check (DBS), and are required to provide satisfactory references and receive ongoing training and support. The Home Library Service now has several new volunteers to help deliver even more books to your door.
As well as the Home Library Service, the Royal Voluntary Service can provide befriending, help with shopping, and other things you might need – just get in touch with them to find out how they can help.
