Wimborne’s Priest’s House Museum & Garden is holding a talk on ‘The Story of the Victorian Villa’, on Thursday 10 November at 7.30pm.
The illustrated talk will explore the history and contents of Sir Merton and Lady Russell-Cotes’ cliff top Victorian villa in Bournemouth, today the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum.
Sumptuous rooms still displayed with their original collections are brought to life with quirky stories and tales of this devoted antiquarian couple. Empress Eugenie of France, stars of the Victorian stage, exotic world trips and what to give your wife for her 66th birthday are all covered in this talk on the eclectic Russell-Cotes.
