Family and friends have been paying tribute to Jenny Clarke, the founder of Woofability, who sadly passed away on Friday after suffering a heart attack.
Jenny, from Ferndown co-founded Woofability with her husband Andy in April 2009. The charity has helped to ease the life of many people with disabilities by providing assistance dogs.
Jenny used a wheelchair following an accident and relied on her assistance dog for both emotional and social support. She was determined that more people would have the same help and set up Woofability to meet the needs of people with disabilities across Dorset and the New Forest.
mag4dorset supported Woofability in 2011-12, sponsoring a golden retriever puppy named Magsie, which was featured in October’s magazines after being partnered with a Colten Care home.
Director Ben Pulford joined Jenny at the care home a few weeks ago to celebrate Magsie’s success as an assistance dog. Ben said: “Jenny was so proud of all that the charity had achieved and delighted that residents would be able to enjoy spending time with Magsie.
“She has brought a lot of pleasure to many people and despite her disability was determined to live life to the full.
“We will all miss her both as a friend and because of the way she inspired everyone around her.”
Sad news indeed. A lovely kind person and a total inspiration to all those around her. Andy, you were a fantastic support to her and we share your loss.
Such sad news. Jenny was a wonderful lady, God bless you Jenny xx
