Sandbanks businesses host charity street party
Funds were raised for Dorset Cancer Care Foundation during street party with Sandbanks businesses.
Sandbanks businesses hung out the bunting and staged a street party to raise funds for Dorset Cancer Care Foundation.
Hosted by Tailor Made estate agents, the traditional afternoon tea was supported by all the businesses on the peninsula’s Banks Road and attracted dozens of local residents, shoppers and holidaymakers.
Dorset Cancer Care Foundation (DCCF) provides financial support for Dorset people with cancer, giving grants, which pay for everything from patients’ transport costs, and childcare, to much needed short breaks and even household bills.
DCCF Trustee Anne Rowland, said, “There was such a great atmosphere, with tables outside all of the businesses, laden down with delicious sandwiches, cakes and also tea in china cups.
“The weather was glorious and we also had some great entertainment provided by local band, Poole U3A Ukulele Jam.”
She continued, “We are extremely grateful to our long standing supporters at Tailor Made for organising the event. People were donating very generously throughout the afternoon and as ever, every penny raised will go straight to help people who are suffering from cancer here in Dorset.”
