Bournemouth’s Castlepoint Shopping Park will look bright and festive when Santa and EastEnders Matt Lapinskas and Gillian Wright, and C5 Milkshake presenter Olivia Birchenough from the BIC panto Snow White switch-on the Christmas light 6pm on Thursday 26 November.
General manager Peter Matthews says that the 45 retailers and other outlets will also start late night opening until 9pm from 1 December.
“Our new lighting will brighten everyone’s Christmas. Children will be delighted to see that our illuminated reindeer will be with her baby this year and the fairy lighting on our trees within the landscaping and the malls will be a fantastic feature,” said Peter. “We will have the Centrepoint Elim Church choir at the switch-on and Christmas characters entertaining children of all ages.”
On Saturdays 5 and 12 December there will be more free festive entertainment with Christmas characters including the Snow Cats, Christmas puddings, Percy Penguin, Monty Polar Bear and a chance to enjoy some complimentary roasted chestnuts.
