The 28th Annual Save the Children Christmas Parade takes place in the historic town of Wimborne Minster tomorrow, Saturday 10 December.
There will be 50 floats and walking tableaux. The parade starts at Cobhams in Brook Road at 2.15pm and wends its way into the centre of town via Leigh Road, Lewens Lane, Park Lane, East Street, King Street, West Street and into the town centre through the Square and completing down the High Street. At the end Father Christmas and the Snow Princess who travel in the parade can be visited in the Tourist Information Centre in the High Street.
“It is always a spectacular event to watch”, says the parade marshal Anthony Oliver. “I have to have 50 marshals to control all the road junctions and to ensure the safety of all involved including the large crowds expected. All money raised as a result of the event goes to the Save the Children Fund and last year in excess of £2,000 was raised.”
