Scouts, guides and brownies from groups in Christchurch helped the Mayor of Christchurch, Cllr Denise Jones, to distribute her goodwill parcels to nominated recipients around the Borough.
Parcels of foodstuffs or plants and chocolates were handed out to 49 people thanks to the generosity of local businesses and groups who donated money or goods to the Mayor’s Goodwill Fund. More than £1,300 was raised from the businesses and community groups.
The lucky recipients were nominated by local charities, churches, doctors’ surgeries and social services.
Representatives from 1st Mudeford and 2nd Mudeford Brownies, Mudeford Guides and Scouts from Town, Jumpers, Highcliffe, Burton, Mudeford, and Somerford groups, together with District Explorers, helped with the distribution.
The Mayor said: “I was very grateful to the members of the different youth organisations who helped to distribute the various gift parcels. They were so enthusiastic and had lovely smiling faces – marvellous ambassadors for Christchurch and the Mayor’s Goodwill Fund.”
I am sorry but this is the only way I find to contact you. I have registered and been accepted for my granddaughter Sofia Clymer to start this month at 1st Mudeford Brownies.
I have heard nothing to date. Could you let me know please.
