Secrets of the Stour to be revealed
Wimborne Community Theatre and Millstream Theatre is staging a production from 6 to 9 July on the banks of the River Stour.
The River Stour has secrets – and these are about to be revealed.
Wimborne Community Theatre and Millstream Theatre is staging ‘Secrets of the Stour’ set on the banks of this pretty river in a hidden part of Wimborne.
Crossing the meadows from Julian’s Bridge the audience will join two young characters on a quest, meeting a series of colourful characters during the journey who can open portals and allow glimpses into the secret world of the river – providing they can guess the riddles and meet the challenges.
Featuring drama, dance, live music, singing, puppets and sound installations, this unusual promenade performance takes place at 7.30pm each evening from Wednesday 6 to Saturday 9 July. Tickets are available on Eventbrite (http://tinyurl.com/4483rkmm or search Wimborne Community Theatre).
The specially created performance has been developed by members of Wimborne Community Theatre and is directed by Tony Horitz, in collaboration with artistic director Joe Hancock of Burn the Curtain Theatre, and Millstream Theatre artistic director Tam Gilbert, with music composed by Karen Wimhurst and sound artist Adrian Newton.
If this exciting event appeals to you and you would like to get more involved, volunteers are sought to help with costume, props and marshalling. To find out more contact: gillhoritz@icloud.com
