Do you recognise anyone shown here? These CCTV images have been released by the police and are of suspects following a spate of shoplifting incidents in East Dorset.
The first theft happened at around 6.50pm on Sunday 28 September when two men stole two six packs of Red Bull from the BP Garage in Ringwood Road, St Leonards. They spoke with Irish accents and walked toward the Little Chef before leaving in a vehicle.
On Sunday 26 October a man took 15 jars of very expensive Manuka honey from Waitrose on Rowlands Hill in Wimborne without any attempts to pay for the items.
Another incident took place at around 7.30pm on Wednesday 29 October in Tesco on Glenmoor Road in West Parley. A man entered the store and selected various items of alcohol and meat products and placed them in a basket. He then walked out of the shop making no attempt to pay for the products. A member of the public recovered the shopping basket with items as he had followed the suspect.
On Sunday 2 November at the Co-operative store in Station Road, West Moors a man entered the store, selected around 20 various meat products and left without paying.
A further incident happened at Waitrose on Rowlands Hill in Wimborne between 4pm and 7.35pm on Sunday 9 November when a man stole a bottle of wine from the store after it had closed.
Later in the month, it was reported that a woman took two handbags from the shop without offering payment at Present along High Street in Wimborne just after 1pm on Wednesday 19 November.
Another incident happened at about 4.20pm on Monday 1 December in Lloyds Pharmacy in The Square in Wimborne. A man and a woman entered the store. The woman engaged a member of staff in conversation. It is believed that during this time the man took aftershave from a display stand. The man and the woman then left the shop without paying.
Police Constable Adam Aggas, of Ferndown police, said: “Following my investigations I am now in a position to release CCTV images of these shoplifting suspects.
“I am appealing for anyone who recognises the suspects featured in these CCTV images to contact me in confidence on 101.”
Police in East Dorset are running an operation throughout December to target shoplifters and reduce offences which tend to rise at Christmas time.
Plain-clothed officers will be carrying out patrols in shops across the area, particularly in Wimborne and Ferndown.
PC Adam Aggas continued: “In the run up to Christmas and in these tough financial times, every penny counts for many of our retailers. Shoplifters are not welcome in East Dorset.”
