Silver anniversary for The Beehive Centre
Before lockdown, The Beehive Centre, which is operated by Dorset’s disability charity Diverse Abilities, celebrated its 25th birthday at The Hamworthy Club.
More than 120 guests enjoyed a two-course meal, a variety of entertainment, an award ceremony and disco. Guests included people supported by the charity, their friends and family members, and Diverse Abilities’ staff.
Each of the adults who attend The Beehive Centre received an award in one of the following categories; Mobility and Therapy, Community, New or Developed Activities, New Skills, Relationships, Swimming, and Communications.
Pupils from The Beehive also voted on their entertainment for the evening, with performances from local singers and a disco provided by Ashley Hooper Parties.
Julia Forrest-Wilson, adult services operations manager, commented, “The past year at The Beehive has seen a lot of change, my team have been instrumental in making everything run smoothly for the people we support, and so rounding it off with something like this has been really great.”
Diverse Abilities supports more than 700 children and adults across Dorset, See diverseabilities.org.uk.
