OLD FRIENDS MEET AGAIN: Brian McIntyre with Sir Geoff
The Sportsman Dinner held at Wimborne Town FC on 31 March was a successful fundraiser for the club.
Brain McIntyre who organised the event said, “Both Sir Geoff Hurst and the comedian Paul Boardman were excellent speakers.”
Sir Geoff Hurst MBE secured a unique place in the history of football when he became the first and, over 45 years later, is still the only player to score a hat-trick in a World Cup Final. It was 1966, the year England won the World Cup.
