On the weekend of 21 and 22 May, the National Trust’s West Dorset team is holding the annual Spring Tide Food Festival at Hive Beach, Burton Bradstock. The festival will be open between 10am and 4pm on both days.
Sarah Kennedy, The Trust’s outdoor experience ranger in West Dorset and Caz Richards, volunteer project manager for the festival, said, “There will be lots going on over the weekend with a strong community emphasis and the opportunity to discover and meet local food producers.
“With over 60 stallholders attending, the festival will bring together and showcase some of the best food and drink from across the county, featuring a line-up of locally made artisan bread, preserves, tea, coffee, beer, cider, wine, cheese, chocolate, cakes, charcuterie, fish and meat.
“You’ll also find a selection of products from local craftsmen and artists, and be able to enjoy music and family entertainment.
“We’ll be tempting visitors to experience a range of local seasonal foods, from scrumptious savouries to the indulgent naughty but nice sweet treats.”
Katharine Wright, Dorset food & drink co-ordinator said, “It is so good to see this festival going from strength to strength and continue to attract the high quality food and drink producers from the local area. ”
Entry to the event is £2 and all monies raised will be spent on conservation work at local National Trust sites. There’s free parking for National Trust members at Hive Beach or Pay and Display for non-members.
