Detectives investigating the armed robbery at the Esso Service Station on Charminster Road in Bournemouth have released a CCTV image of the incident .
At around 2.50am on Thursday 7 January a man wearing a black hooded top, grey tracksuit bottoms and a black scarf around his face, entered the shop and threatened staff with a hand gun before stealing a quantity of cash.
Officers, including armed police, attended the scene and carried out a search of the area, but the offender was not located. No one was physically injured during the incident.
The offender is described as a white man, aged in his late teens or early 20s, around five feet six inches tall, of slim build and with blue or green coloured eyes.
Detective Constable Roy Waters, of Bournemouth CID, said: “The offender was well covered up and it is unlikely he will be identified from the image, but I would like to speak to anyone who may have seen this person in the area before or after the incident or has witnessed anything suspicious at the relevant times.
“Anyone with information that could assist with my enquiries should contact me by calling 101.”
