Poole’s innovative pop-up shop will be showcasing exciting career opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) from Tuesday 26 May.
Job seekers and young people thinking about their future career options will be able to learn more about these sectors at the pop-up STEM centre at 58 High Street, Poole.
Leading local employers and training providers, including Sunseeker International Ltd and the RNLI, will be on hand to offer information about jobs, career pathways and learning and development opportunities available throughout Dorset.
Other organisations taking part include Aish Technologies Limited, Paragon Skills for Industry, Bournemouth and Poole College, Princecroft Willis and Borough of Poole.
The pop-up STEM centre will be open daily between 9.30am to 5pm from Tuesday 26 May until Saturday 30 May.
Duncan Newman, Dorset Skills Hub Leader, said: “STEM subjects are vital to the country’s economic success. The UK is the world’s sixth largest manufacturer and produces 10% of the world’s top scientific research so it’s essential to have a continuous stream of people entering the STEM professions.
“The pop-up STEM centre will show that these are diverse and interesting sectors in which to work. The opportunities are huge for anyone looking for a rewarding and challenging career. Whether you are considering your first job or apprenticeship or looking to further your career we would encourage anyone interested in pursuing STEM subjects and careers to visit us during half term.”
