Still places available to shoot wildlife on Dorset's Brownsea Island
Dorset Wildlife Trust (DWT) is delighted to welcome local wildlife photographer, Paul Williams, to its nature reserve on Brownsea Island to run a series of courses, open to anyone with an interest in learning more about wildlife photography.
Wildlife photographer, Paul Williams, is about to run a series of courses on Brownsea Island for all levels of photographers. He is currently a finalist in the British Wildlife Photographer of the year awards with five of his six shortlisted wildlife images taken in Dorset. His photograph of Portland Bill has also been nominated in the top 50 weather images in the world for 2017, and he has reached the final stage of the Landscape Photographer of the year 2017.
Paul volunteers with Dorset Wildlife Trust and provides images for use on information boards and the DWT members’ magazine. He recently photographed the barn owls that were streamed live on the DWT’s webcam as they fledged from Lorton Meadows nature reserve in Weymouth. He’s also been out and about on Brownsea over the last few weeks.
Paul said: “Brownsea Island is surely the jewel in the crown of what is already an amazing county for wildlife. Wildlife photography for me allows me to express myself creatively, tests my photographic skills and helps me get my view of the natural world out to as many people as I can.”
All skill levels will be catered for, from beginners to those trying to get the perfect shot.
The workshops are one-day courses with the option of an overnight stay in the DWT Brownsea Island Villa.
