Following the lights switch-on last Saturday (28 November), Wimborne is getting ready for the Save the Children parade on 12 December.
With more than 50 entries, including floats, vintage cars and tractors, the Christmas procession will leave Brook Road at 2.15pm and travel into the town centre, arriving at the square at around 3pm. Father Christmas will be in his grotto at the Tourist Information Centre after the parade.
There will be activities in the town centre including the Great Pudding Stir at the Victorian kitchen in the Priest’s House Museum, which will be brimming with the smells of Christmas Pudding from 10.30am to 4pm. Visitors are invited to stir things up as the museum spreads a little festive cheer. Help stir the huge bowl of dry mix and make a Christmas wish, before sampling the final product, heated on a coal-fired range – admission £1.50, children £1.
