Molly Annett has raised £430 for the local branch of McMillan Cancer Support by selling her original photos to teaching staff and fellow students at Bournemouth’s Bishop of Winchester Academy. Molly, 16 from Muscliffe, says that she is delighted that so many people responded to her fundraising initiative as she was selling each print for £5 with all the proceeds going to the charity.
“Some staff members have made multiple orders of their favourite images,” said Molly, “Some of the top selling image themes are close ups of flowers and insects and scenic shots, either in both black and white or colour, including sunsets on Bournemouth beach. I am very grateful to everyone who has contributed to McMillan Cancer Support, I expected to only sell about £100 worth.”
Molly started her interest in photography when she was given a digital camera by her parents at the age of five so it is no surprise that one of her exams she is studying for is GCSE BTec Photography, with the ambition to become a professional photographer after further studying at university.
