Wimborne Town produced one of their best displays of the campaign with a 2-1 victory over North Leigh at Cuthbury last Saturday.
In the day’s best attended Southern League Division One South & West encounter there was plenty of action.
George Webb put the Magpies into the lead after only four minutes and Mark Gamble was denied the chance to put the hosts 2-0 up as his fierce header was parried away by the North Leigh keeper.
At the other end Jason Harvell pulled off a stunning save to deny the visitors an equaliser.
Wimborne’s second came midway through the second half courtesy of Sam Griffin.
The Magpies were denied their third home clean sheet on the bounce when the visitors grabbed a consolation goal in the dying minutes.
On Wednesday night (12 March) Wimborne travel to Guildford City, a side they thrashed 8-1 in October.
This Saturday they travel to Clevedon Town and take to the road again the following Tuesday (18 March) to face Didcot Town.
