Success for Wimborne Green Festival
People came together in October to celebrate all that is green in the town with support from local businesses.
The annual Planet Wimborne Green Festival returned for the third time in October, with the town wide green-themed week attracting lots of interest and participation.
The Minster Green was buzzing on the opening Saturday, with a host of stalls run by local groups ranging from Wimborne Win on Waste to Butterfly Conservation – and everything in between. Apple pressing was as popular as ever, offering free samples and producing over 200 bottles of delicious juice.
There were opportunities all week to engage with nature conservation, waste reduction and green initiatives in the community – inspiring people to live more sustainably and protect our precious planet.
The Festival organising team would like to thank the army of dedicated volunteers who helped to make all this happen, and the generous sponsors from the local community, whose support was invaluable – Teacher’s Building Society; Pink Egret Design; Waitrose; Wimborne, Southern and Corfe Mullen Co-ops; Spill the Beans and Fair Ground.
Next year’s Planet Wimborne Green Festival is from 14–21 October.
