Dorset-based Swish of the Curtain Theatre School can be seen in ITV’S ‘Keep It in the Family’ hosted by Bradley Walsh, due to air this Saturday (5 September).
Competing families on the show watch an instantly recognisable song from a piece of musical theatre, performed by a group of musical theatre children.
Swish will be performing their chosen number. Filming took place over a whole weekend at Elstree Studios where 24 Swish pupils rehearsed on set before performing in front of a studio audience.
Principal of Swish of the Theatre School, Tina Witham said, “I am very proud of the achievements of Swish pupils – they never cease to amaze me with the quality, energy and professionalism of their performances – be it on a local stage or a national one such as this.”
One of the pupils, Jack Ambrose said, “Performing on the show was a fantastic experience. We got to meet Bradley Walsh who made all of us feel very welcome and excited. My favourite parts had to be having tea opposite the Nana’s and getting a birthday cake from the crew along with a signed message from Brad! Overall this experience is one I will remember for the rest of my life.”
Isabella Stacey, aged 9 added, “I had such an amazing experience, I felt a like a star and I loved every moment of it! I have always wanted to be an actor and my dreams just came true that day. I really enjoyed meeting Bradley Walsh.”
