Work to replace two groynes closest to Bournemouth Pier will start in October, with two more being replaced next year.

The initiative aims to help people move off the streets and into accommodation to keep them out of danger.

People will be able to watch the state funeral of HM The Queen on big screens provided by BCP Council in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

People gathered outside Bournemouth Civic Centre on Sunday to hear the chairman of BCP Council, Nigel Hedges, read the historic proclamation.

A masterplan creating a vision for the park over the next 10 years is being produced and local people are invited to put forward their comments.

Bournemouth’s 2022 air show not only drew large crowds, many people used public transport and took their waste home.

A map has been produced which details the airspace and water restrictions in place for the festival which runs from 1-4 September.

BCP Council is urging people to use sustainable methods of transport to the festival, which runs from 1-4 September.

The sound and light installation will be in place from 8 September until 9 October ahead of the Bournemouth Arts By the Sea Festival.

The new Christmas Maritime Light Festival will run from Saturday 19 November – Monday 2 January celebrating the town’s maritime heritage.
