The Beryl bike scheme has extended to Corfe Mullen and Upton, with 80 bikes including pedal cycle and e-bikes available from bays in the towns.
The Dorset police and crime commissioner said irresponsible retailers should not be selling e-scooters to the public.
Wimborne, Colehill, West Parley, West Moors and Ferndown residents will now be able to take advantage of Beryl Bikes.
The speed of Beryl e-scooters will be restricted in Lower Gardens and Bournemouth town centre as well as along the seafront.
The BCP area is only the second in the country to offer three forms of sustainable transport – e-scooters, push bikes and e-bikes.
Bournemouth Coastal Bid is making funding available to enable hotel staff to come to work on Beryl bikes and scooters.
The four-year-old was injured in a collision with an e-scooter near Boscombe Pier on Friday 3 September.
