From Monday patients and staff will have to go across the road from Bournemouth hospital in order to access the PCR Covid swabbing service.

Now lateral flow testing is available in a variety of ways, BCP Council feels there is not so much demand for some testing sites.

Essential businesses which are open and haven’t yet registered for community testing are urged by Public Health Dorset to do so.

As one in three people with COVID-19 are asymptomatic, the lateral flow testing will identify them and ensure they self-isolate.

From Monday 11 January, there will be 11 testing sites in Dorset, but you do need to book a test before turning up.

There has been an expansion of the service and now there are eight sites – but you should only book if you have symptoms.

People needing to take a COVID-19 test have an additional place where they can access the service. It is located in Bournemouth.
