The man, who was found dead in a tent off Holes Bay Road, was allegedly assaulted in Chapel Lane the day before.
The raid took place in the early hours of Wednesday 26 March. Police are seeking CCTV footage of three men and a van in the vicinity.
A body had been found in a pond off Chaseside in the Littledown area on Monday 2 March, but detectives now say the man’s death wasn’t suspicious.
