The Christchurch Big Spring Clean saw residents, businesses, and community groups coming together for the initiative.

Bournemouth Town Centre BID is installing hanging baskets and organising litter picking and graffiti removal to make the town more welcoming.

McDonald’s volunteers have teamed up with the local community group Litter Pickers of the New Forest to help clean up the local area.

There were fresh faces and new recruits for the litter pick in West Moors on 4 March and one volunteer brought his children along to help.

Organised by Wimborne War on Waste, the recent litter pick collected cigarette butts, plastic cable ties and takeaway food containers.

In the first of the year, litter pickers heroes unearthed all kinds of household items and lots of bottles and cans from the local car parks.

Residents weren’t deterred by the rain on 5 November, and turned out to pick litter from the town’s streets.

The A338 spur road between Ashley Heath and Bournemouth will be closed over four nights for its twice-yearly clean-up.
