Poole lifeboat was launched at 5.30pm on 8 September by UK Coastguard to aid a 46ft yacht with seven people aboard, which had collided with the chain ferry that runs between Poole and Studland.
RNLI lifeboat crews launched on Saturday 11 August to assist a vessel that had collided with the chain ferry at the entrance of Poole Harbour.
When the Poole Lifeboat launched just before 4.30pm on 9 July to assist a 28 foot boat that had gearbox failure, the crew recognised the vessel because its owner is the station’s volunteer lifeboat operations manager.
