Bournemouth’s Christmas Tree Wonderland and the new Poole Christmas Maritime Light Festival are lighting the way to Christmas and the New Year, thanks to BCP Council.
Around 7,000 lollies and 22,000 ice creams were consumed in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole when thousands flocked to the area over Easter.
BCP Council will be using a £1.7 million funding boost to improve Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole for the influx of visitors in the coming months.
The Great South West Tourism Partnership, which encompasses Dorset, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall, has plans to boost business.
On the hottest weekend of the year, people flocked to the region’s beaches and 89 tonnes of waste were collected.

Bournemouth has not only been named the best UK beach in the annual TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards but is 5th in Europe and 14th in the world ranking above beaches in locations world famous for their miles of golden sands and crystal clear waters, including the Seychelles, Australia, Turkey and Sicily.
