Traders taking part in the ‘Buy With Confidence’ scheme have been vetted by Dorset Council’s Trading Standards team.

In a combined operation, six shops were visited by police, customs and a tobacco detection dog and a quantity of items were seized.

Following an investigation by Dorset Police and Trading Standards, John Christian Beckett from Canford Magna is now in jail.

Barbershops in Bournemouth, Poole and Blandford Forum were found by Organised Crime Unit officers to have illegal activity.

Operation CeCe, which took place last week, saw products seized across Dorset including Ferndown, Weymouth, Bournemouth and Poole.

As part of Operation CeCe, vapes, hand-rolling tobacco, tobacco sticks, shisha, and packs of cigars were seized.

Dorset Council have forced Amsterdam Market in Weymouth to close due to the sale of illicit vapes and cigarettes.

The illegal pet breeders from Dorchester who made over £34,000 from their activities kept the animals in poor conditions.

Illegal tobacco, cigarettes and vapes worth £208,000 have been seized by Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council this year.

A Poole man has been prosecuted for illegal dog breeding following a two-year investigation led by Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council.
