Tree planting sessions by volunteers in West Moors have resulted in a burgeoning new copse behind the town’s skate park.
Over 60 residents from West Moors snapped up the chance of picking up a free sapling from their town council at the weekend.
Rain didn’t prevent residents from a Dorset town turning out on Saturday 8 January with spades to plant 105 saplings.
The saplings have been planted to mark the 50th anniversary of St Michael’s School and to improve the local environment.
The initiative is all part of The Queen’s Green Canopy to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee next year.
