Tea paw-ty to be held in Charminster to raise funds for guide dogs
Guests attending a charity tea party in July will get the chance to meet guide dog puppies and see a guide dog in action.
Get ready for a ‘paw-some’ time in Charminster, where a charity tea party is to be held to raise funds for the charity Guide Dogs.
The party is to be held on Tuesday 23 July at Hill Barn Farm, Charminster, from 2pm. Guests will get the chance to meet guide dog puppies and see a guide dog in action with the demonstration team.
A team of volunteers will put together a home-made afternoon tea with a selection of sandwiches, scones and a selection of cakes.
Attendees will get to learn first-hand about the behaviours that guide dogs are taught during their training and the reasons behind them, as well as hear from volunteers who look after and raise the puppies. Guests will also have the opportunity to explore the country garden, which features a sculpture trail.
Assistance dogs play a vital role in helping people with sight loss to live actively and independently. As well as raising and training dogs, the charity Guide Dogs offers support to families and can recommend technology and services that can help people with visual impairments live their lives to the fullest.
Claire Rossall, volunteering coordinator for Guide Dogs, said: “Your attendance will support a great cause, so mark your calendars and bring your friends along for a woof-tastic time.”
Tickets for the afternoon tea cost £15 per person. Book your ticket at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/guide-dogs-charity-tea-party-tickets-859434861807
