Teenage arrest following reported BB gun incident in Bournemouth
The 18-year-old, who was found in possession of a class B drug, was suspected of being in possession of an imitation firearm.
A teenager was arrested following a disturbance outside BBQ Express in Wimborne Road in which it was reported that he had an imitation firearm.
The man subsequently left the scene and was stopped by officers in the area of Elmes Road.
He was reportedly found in possession of suspected cannabis and a BB gun was located nearby on Elmes Road.
The 18-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, affray and possession of a class B drug. He has been released under investigation as further enquiries are conducted.
Police Constable Tara Pressey, of BCP CID, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and we are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or has captured any relevant dashcam or CCTV footage.
“We are also yet to identify the other men present at the scene, with three of them there who are reported to have potentially been threatened by the alleged offender.
“I would urge these individuals to come forward so we can take their account of what happened.”
