Teenage cyclist seriously injured following collision near Lytchett Matravers
Anyone with dashcam footage or who witnessed this serious collision which took place on 19 June is asked to contact Dorset Police.
A 14-year-old boy suffered life threatening injuries in a collision near Lytchett Matravers at 7.44am on Wednesday 19 June.
The incident which took place on Huntick Road, near to The Courtyard Craft Centre, involved a white Volkswagen Up! and the teenage cyclist.
Road closures were put in place to allow emergency services to respond to the incident and for a full examination of the scene to be conducted.
Sergeant Tracey Downer, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “Our thoughts are very much with the child who was seriously injured as a result of this collision and his family at this difficult time for them all.
“We are continuing to carry out enquiries as we seek to establish the full circumstances of the collision and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please make contact with us.
“I would also urge any motorists with dashcam fitted who were travelling in the vicinity on the morning of Wednesday 19 June 2024 to please review their footage for anything of relevance.
“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during the road closures. These are absolutely necessary to allow the emergency services to respond and for a full examination of the collision scene to be carried out.”
